My name is Megan Yager and I am the Nursery Coordinator here at First Covenant. Outside of my hours in the nursery, my days are spent being a stay-at-home mom. My husband, Dwayne and I have two daughters. They look nothing alike and have equally opposite personalities. It keeps us on our toes. We moved to Salina from Lincoln, NE. (Go Huskers!) I am a very low-key individual which is shown by my favorite pastimes being reading, eating, and sleeping. I have enjoyed the opportunity that this job has afforded me in getting to know other parents and volunteers within the church body. Marsha Pavkov came to First Covenant as Director of Children's Ministries in July of 1991. Marsha is responsible for infant through 6th grade children; however, she focuses on Kindergarten through 6th grade, while her assistant, Lisa Beery, who came on staff in May of 2000, works with the infants through pre-school. Their ministry extends far beyond the Sunday morning Christian Education Hour. There are Bible Studies specifically for children, retreats and summer camping programs, all of which help the children to meet Jesus as Savior and to deepen their faith. Marsha and Lisa encourage the children in developing skills in puppet ministry, sign language, music, and dramas, so they may minister to and serve others. Marsha is responsible for Vacation Bible School, which is a community outreach, and for Operation Christmas Child, a world-wide mission ministry.
