New Worship and Christian Education Schedule!
Starting January 11, 2009, worship services will be 8:10 am (traditional), 9:30 am (blended), and 10:50 am (contemporary).  Christian Education will be offered at 9:30 (adult classes, including Hilltoppers, and PreK-high school classes) and 10:50 am (adult classes and combined-grade children's classes.

Building Fund Update
Great news! As was reported at our congregational meeting Nov. 23, the current loan balance is approx. $124,000.  This is a testimony to God's provision through your generosity.  Thank you! (if you wish to make a special gift to the Building Fund before the end of the year, please be sure to specify that on your donation.  Thank you again for your faithful giving.)

Financial Peace University
Have you wondered how you can cut debt and become financialy stable?  Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is coming to First Covenant Tuesdays at 6:30 pm, beginning Jan. 13.  It is a life-changing 13-week program that teaches how to make right decisions with your money. Preview dates where you can check out the material are Dec. 28 following the 2nd service or Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 6:30 pm.  Cost is $93/individual or couple (or $49 if you are one of the 1st ten participants to sign up).  Your payment is your official registration.  Check out www.daveramsey.com for more information.

Focus on the Family's "Focus on Marriage" Simulcast Event. Live at First Covenant February 28, 2009, 8:30 am-4 pm.  Speakers include Beth Moore, Dr. Gary Smalley, Dr. John Trent, Gary Thomas, Dr. Del Tackett and special musical guest Jeremy Camp.  Cost is $59/couple and $35/individual.  After January 16, cost is $69/couple and $45/individual.  For more information, click here.
 

Emergency Aid/Food Bank

We accept donations for the Food Bank on the first Sunday of each month. A specific needs list will be provided closer to the end of the month, although any donation is accepted.

In January, these items are most needed:  Ramen Noodles, Tuna Helper, Jelly, Jello/Pudding, canned vegetables (carrots, peas, potatoes, mixed vegetables), flour, tea bags, canned meat, rice, biscuit mix, toothpaste, laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper.

Birthright Christmas Tree.  Throughout the Advent season, a Christmas tree sponsored by Birthright of Salina will be in the church foyer (by the office door).  Please take a tag from the tree and return a wrapped gift of your choice, new or used.
